RNC Eve: Police Seize Sustainable Living BusMore at http://www.theuptake.org. Delyla Wilson tours the country with her family in the "PermiBus," a mobile permaculture demonstration. The group is in the Twin Cities to teach people about sustainable living practices. On the evening of Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008 the bus was pulled over in what police eventually described as a routine traffic stop. After detaining the bus occupants, the police decided the bus was a commercial vehicle and impounded it for inspection, leaving the family and their guests stranded and homeless. The police allowed the Wilsons to remove their dogs and chickens, but were not allowed to retrieve their computers or any other belongings, including their daughter's shoes. This incident ended a day that saw multiple pre-RNC raids, which some legal observers believe is a coordinated pre-emptive effort by local and national law enforcement agencies to chill RNC protest action. Sustainable Development (Highlights)In this pair of films, designed for schools, Excellent Development provide case studies of their conservation driven development and community-led approach in semi-arid Kenya through the lenses of sustainable farming and sustainable development. These films and the series of mini-films which explore each individual element of the charity's holistic approach to soil and water conservation offer a valuable insight into how communities can strengthen their long-term sustainability and make a positive grassroots contribution to fighting global climate change. The sustainable farming case study demonstrates how farmers address problems of soil erosion and water availability using terracing, sand dams & trees as a first step towards sustainable farming. The terracing and trees massively reduce soil erosion and keep more moisture in the farms while the sand dams harvest rain water allowing farmers to dedicate more time to their farms, try out new farming methods like zero-grazing and inter-cropping, diversify the range of their crops and work towards achieving food security and generating incomes. The sustainable Development case study explores why conservation of the environment has to be addressed first in order to make sustainable development possible in a semi-arid environment and looks at the impacts of soil and water conservation in terms of the improved availability of water and food, improvements in health, incomes and the positive contribution towards fighting climate change. The film also picks out the elements that make the development sustainable; the positive impact on the natural environment, Excellent Development's bottom-up approach and the use of appropriate technology. For more information please visit:www.excellentdevelopment.comto watch more films like this visit:http://tv.oneworld.net
The Sustainable Star - GermanyJune 2006Germany has already gone further than anyone else in encouraging renewable energy. By 2050, 50% of its energy could come from renewable sources. But what's the real cost of its energy revolution?Germany's landmark EEG law forces power stations to buy electricity at above markets rates from anyone using renewable energy to generate it. "It's the beginning of an energy revolution", raves politician Herman Scheer. In the village of Juhnde, residents now produce their own electricity from manure. "We are independent of international oil prices", raves one local. The scheme has been so successful that 30 other villages plan to copy them. But power companies blame the EEG law for Germany's expensive electricity bills and claim it makes some German industries uncompetitive.Produced by SBS/DatelineDistributed by Journeyman Pictures

Self-Sustainable ChairSelf-Sustainable Chair, a dress made out of polyethylene, connected to shoes that pump air into an inflatable bubble attached to its rear part on each step. The dress slowly transforms into a chair with each step and holds the person to sit on it naturally. With his or her body weight the chair is slowly deflated and forms back to the original flat dress. Self-Sustainable chair is a conceptual garment that motivates users to consistently switch between walking and sitting as a loop behavior on the street. The balance between exercise and rest would be maintained by wearing this suit. The purpose of this project is to transform the humdrum experiences produced by routine walking commutes into an amusing interactive performance.

Sustainable Living Series - Shelter - Part 4cSustainable Living--Shelter Series Part 4dhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=abOaTUmvolc--After all the research I have done on the secrets of the world, Ive decided that Ive done what I can to provide information to the public about these secret societies, power structures and malicious conspiracies. You all will find your own answers, and it is likely that if you are told when you are not yet prepared for the truth, you will just deny it from the onset. This was my experience, and it was hard waking up. DO NOT RUSH YOURSELF.So, that being said, I decided to contribute by providing a series of videos dealing with changing our lifestyles to become more self-sufficient and environmentally friendly. This allows us to become the creators of own destiny with little government support required.Self-sustainable living should be a worthy goal for those wishing to escape the new world order and develop communities that are free and just. Most importantly, these communities will minimize the human harm on the planet by REMEMBERING what we have forgotten about life.We only need to look to nature to find the answers we seek. Remember, this is information you may find useful in developing your own solutions to becoming more self-reliant in your own life. The topic for sustainable living this week is SHELTER AND NORTHERN SURVIVAL:http://www.earthship.orghttp://www.ecodome.ca/http://www.ecoshelter.org/Next time we shall talk about self-sufficient heating and cooling your shelter.Take care my friends.--Ohio University Athens bobcats green solar panel composting garden recycling sustainable living art adventure culture events nature green clean energy future scott ludlam solar wind biomass geothermal wave renewable greens western australia Alternative Energy Geothermal greenpeace oceans wave power tidal renewable energy grey water greywater recycled detergent Grant Harper melbourne information nikola tesla power nwo illuminati conspiracy world secret documentary forbidden history best icke einstein leary 911 war Permaculture Cyprus Permaculture Geoff Lawton Education Global Green Save the Earth how to chamber dave epstein garden gardening germination growing help home indoor organic overseeding seeds seeds gardening food sustainable living Compost composting community survival outdoors survivalist rural wilderness Water Filter Clean BioSand Hydraid Safe water agriculture development environment water food climate change health subsistence farming Water Reverse Osmosis Hydranautics ultrapure specialty process nanofiltration galactic federation of light ashtar panic creates rush flurry drums jazz rockstar eagle eye blindness quarantine shock Fibonacci Dreamland UFO Flying Saucer Spacecraft MIB Alien E.T. Within Reach - Emerald Earth Sustainable Community TourA short film.My plan to make this a feature length documentary will involve a sustainable transportation journey and will take approximately a year. It will include visiting many intentional communities in the United States.Investors are needed for materials and funding and will have visible credit on the sustainable transportation as well as in the film's credits. Interested investors please contact Ryan for information kits at: ryan@consciousphotography.comWebsite also at: http://web.mac.com/simplerlife/This is my story,"I am a documentarian, photographer, and passionate pursuer of sustainable living. There are many negative things happening in our world that cause social and environmental problems, and much media out there to point out these problems. I have always looked for positive solutions to balance this disharmony i see around me. After having been involved in all types of activism, education, political, and community oriented projects, I have found myself on a path towards living in intentional community on the land. I have met many people along my journey who share this same vision, and see it as a positive solution for change in this world. So why don't I just go and do this? It is "within reach"...but first, one has to reach within. Once one knows themself, finding the right people, the right environment, and even the right theme to join or start ones own community can be quite a journey. Being that I love documenting and photography, it is my hope to document this journey, create a film, and help to raise awareness of these communities. The first community I have filmed is "Emerald Earth in Northern California".Music in Film by:Howard Shore: "Concerning Hobbits"Michiel van der Kuy: "Concerning Hobbits, Power Music Workout"Michelle shows us how to creatively reuse disposable chopsticks to make a unique and lovely EcoBirdfeeder.
