BEATLES - SHEA STADIUM (1965)The US tour really opened on August 15th with a concert scheduled in New York at the Shea Stadium, home of the New York Mets baseball team. This was the first time in the history of music that a stadium was used for a rock concert ! Seen by 55,600 fans, it created a new world record for a pop concert in terms of attendance and gross revenue. The Beatles' share of the $304,000 box-office takings was also a record - $160,000.
Queen - Under Pressure (Live At Wembley Stadium 1986)"Under Pressure" is a 1981 song by Queen and David Bowie. It marked Queen's first released collaboration with another recording artist, and is featured on their 1982 album Hot Space. The song was a hit at the time, reaching #1 in the UK singles chart. The song evolved from a jam session the band had with Bowie at its studio in Montreux, Switzerland, therefore it was credited as co-written by the five musicians. According to Queen bassist John Deacon (as quoted in a French magazine in 1984), however, the song's primary musical songwriter was Freddie Mercury — though all contributed to the arrangement. An earlier, embryonic version of the song without Bowie called "Feel Like" is widely available in bootleg form.Queen guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor have credited the bass riff to Deacon; Bowie also said on his website that the bassline was already written before he became involved.Bowie had originally come to the studios in order to sing backing vocals in another Queen song, "Cool Cat," which would end up being edited out since he wasn't satisfied with them. Once he got there, they jammed for a while and wrote the song.Very nice song sung by the great Freddie Mercury and nicely played by Queen.

China Beijing Olympic National Stadium - Bird's Nest (1of5)The Beijing National Stadium (traditional Chinese: 北京國家體育場; simplified Chinese: 北京国家体育场; Hanyu Pinyin: Běijīng Guójiā Tǐyùchǎng; Tongyong Pinyin: Běijīng Guójiā Tǐyùchǎng), also known as the National Stadium,[1] or the "Bird's Nest" (鳥巢) for its architecture, is a stadium finished for the Olympic Green in Beijing, China that has so far been completed as of March 2008.[2] The stadium will host the main track and field competitions for the 2008 Summer Olympics, as well as the opening and closing ceremonies. It is located east of the Beijing National Aquatics Centre. In 2002, Government officials engaged architects worldwide in a design competition. Pritzker Prize-winning architects Herzog & de Meuron collaborated with ArupSport and China Architecture Design & Research Group to win the competition. Contemporary Chinese artist, Ai Weiwei, is the Artistic Consultant for design.[3] The ground was broken on Christmas Eve December 2003, and construction started in March 2004, but was halted by the high construction cost in August 2004 and continued again. In January 2008, concerns about construction working conditions arose when it was revealed that 2 workers had died during the stadium's construction. The stadium can seat as many as 91,000 spectators during the Olympics. The capacity will then be reduced to 80,000 after the Games. It has replaced the original intended venue of the Guangdong Olympic Stadium[citation needed]. The stadium is 330 metres long by 220 metres wide, and is 69.2 metres tall. The stadium uses 258,000 square metres of space and has a usable area of 204,000 square metres. It was built with 36 km of unwrapped steel[citation needed], with a combined weight of 45,000 tonnes. The stadium has some 11,000 square metres of underground rooms with waterproof walls. The stadium will cost up to 3.5 billion yuan (≈423 million USD).Upon completion, this stadium will boast a state of the art Solar PV system produced by Suntech Power

Grand Funk Railroad - Closer To Home - Shea Stadium 1971http://www.petitiononline.com/GFRMDM/petition.htmlThis is a clip from the legendary Shea Stadium Concert that broke The Beatles ticket sales record. A record that still stands today (37 years later). I'm proud to say this video is in the permanent archives of Shea Stadium & The N.Y. Mets. Yes, this is the real deal, the Grand Funk Railroad we all love at the peak of their great career. Grand Funk Railroad is America's Band. This is a historic concert that folks still rave about. If you were there, feel lucky, because you were a part of history. This is considered by many to be one of the greatest concerts in the short history of "Hard Rock/Metal". Grand Funk Railroad was truly a "Performance Vehicle". It is amazing that this record has stood this long, a testament to how great & influincial this band was in the early 1970's. Check out the link below to see what Mark Farner has to say today about this historic performance. Grand Funk Railroad ruled the world from '69-'76 becoming the first band to earn 10 consecutive platinum albums! Some call it "Industrial Rock". You'll see no lazers or pyro here, just some of the greatest music ever performed live. Shea Stadium suffered structural damage after this show. In fact, the concert was almost stopped because Shea Stadium was oscillating from the excited crowd. Click on the link below & sign the online petition to induct Mark Farner & GFRxR into The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame now! http://www.petitiononline.com/GFRMDM/petition.htmlEveryone go here for Mark Farner's interview about this show:http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article_entertainment.jsp?ymd=20080527&content_id=2779701&vkey=entertainment&fext=.jspEverybody, listen to me,And return me, my ship.Im your captain, Im your captain,Although Im feeling mighty sick.Ive been lost now, days uncounted,And its months since Ive seen home. Can you hear me, can you hear me,Or am I all alone. If you return me, to my home port,I will kiss you mother earth.Take me back now, take me back now,To the port of my birth.Am I in my cabin dreaming, or are you really scheming,To take my ship away from me?Youd better think about it, I just cant live without it.So, please dont take my ship from me.Yeah, yeah, yeah ...I can feel the hand, of a stranger,And its tightening, around my throat.Heaven help me, heaven help me,Take this stranger from my boat.Im your captain, Im your captain,Although Im feeling mighty sick.Everybody, listen to me,And return me, my ship.Im your captain, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.Im your captain, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.Im your captain, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.Im your captain, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.Im getting closer to my home ...Im getting closer to my home ...Im getting closer to my home ...Im getting closer to my home ...Ohhhh ...Im getting closer to my home ...Im getting closer to my home ...Im getting closer to my home ...Im getting closer to my home ...Repeated to fade

From Youtube to Live Earth Wembley Stadium....***NEW OFFICIAL WWW.TERRANAOMI.COM ONLINE NOW!!!***sign up for a free download and HELP MAKE MY NEW CD! details on the site...***A year after 'Say It's Possible' was featured on Youtube, I was fortunate enough to play my song at the Live Earth London concert at Wembley Stadium. The song was inspired by Al Gore's film, 'An Inconvenient Truth,' so when I saw him at a party in Los Angeles last February, I gathered my courage and introduced myself. I told him the story of how his film had inspired this song which basically changed my life.I sent him the links to my video and felt lucky just to have met him. I had no idea that I would later be asked to be part of Live Earth. I am grateful for this incredible opportunity and hope that my experience can encourage other people to dream big and expect the unexpected. Nothing is beyond our reach.with loveterra
