• Leopards and bears up close in Sri LankaA sloth bear weighs 310 pounds, thats twice as much as a leopard. Sloth bears also come equipped with massive claws on its paws. Their effects are easily seen in hunters from rural villages in Sri Lanka, these people have massive scars on their face and chest region and sometimes even empty eye sockets to show if they are lucky enough to survive an encounter.A cameramen captures conflicts between the apex predators; leopards, sloth bears and mugger crocodiles, of the Yala national park in Sri Lanka. Highlights include a crocodile and a leopard trying to take possession of a kill and a leopard trying to swat off a bear from a kill. Yala has the highest density of leopards anywhere in the world.Unfortunately Yala has been closed off to the public since 2007 after Tamil Tiger terrorists (LTTE) infiltrated the jungle and started killing wildlife workers at random.
