Well ask no more! This video demonstrates them side by side in a straight-suction comparison. First I use the Lux LX floor tool, and then I use a turbine nozzle. After watching the video, you'll learn real fast why the turbine nozzles suck for anything but light dust...Discuss in the comments section!I'd handily call this test a draw. It was in SORRY shape when I got it, but that didn't stop me. It's been WEEKS since I found it, but here it is! Newly restored, and soon to have a brown bag when I dye the Kirby bag! Hoover Z400

Yes, the infamous Z upright, one of the last "Hoover Hoovers" before being swallowed up by TTI. This Z400 was one of the last out there; now they've pretty much disappeared except on eBay. Future collectors' items for sure that will be highly sought after, especially the higher-end Z700 which I never saw in person at any store here.I remember it being advertised as the "Sport Utility Vacuum"...yeah, if you were talking about a 3/4-ton Suburban. It's a HUGE machine (yes, a monstrosity, but I like big vacuums), especially when fully "extended", and weighs 26 lbs, about the same as my 913. However, I think it's cool in its own regard and I have to admit it's pretty fun to use, although I couldn't imagine a housewife lugging one of these around for everyday cleaning.The self-cleaning filter is cool even though it doesn't do much, and the electronic control is neat. I plan on leaving the hangtag and sticker on the machine and not using it much; the attachments are still taped to the inside of the compartment and plan on staying that way!
