• Electrolux 330 Automatic vacuum cleanerThis is my near-mint condition Electrolux 330 Automatic from 1973. It was a short lived model and ran from 1973-75 and was replaced by the 345. It featured an Automatic floortool that retracted its brushes when cleaning carpets and released them automatically when vacuuming hardfloors. It would also switch itself off if it became blocked or the bag got too full and the orange light would come on. The knob at the front of the machine controlled the sensitivity of this. My 330 also has a very rare optional Turbinette floor tool, it was an early style of suction driven power head. In the video I use it with a later style hose from a 302 model as the original weaved hose tends to lose a lot of suction now because of its age.

• Mike's Electrolux 170This is the first of many videos I filmed with my friend Alistair during the weekend we spent at my friend Mike's house.We were there to celebrate 60 years of the Hoover Washing Machine plant in Wales.This cleaner is the Electrolux 170. It belongs to Mike. I don't know much about it, other than it's VERY lightweight, as you can see!- It has a small direct-air motor, I think rated around 250w, and a brush-roll with one row of bristles, and one beater-bar. You can hear how effectively it beats the carpet!- To change the bag, you unhook the latch and rotate the dust-box around to the rear of the machine.- It has a small hook at the end of the handle, so it can be hung on a wall for storage.- Tools attach via a pan-type converter.The 170 was based on the American Eureka Power Brush-N-Beat, and was also the basis for the Philips Carpeteer, the PYE Stratovac, and the General Electric Genie, as well as Nilco and Fakir.

• 1980 Electrolux 1453 SpecialI received this from the son of its original owner, complete with all its tools, manual and paperwork. It was purchased new in 1980 in Branson Missouri. The guy said his mother mainly had bare floors and some area rugs, so the power nozzle had very light use.The cleaner is in pristine condition. This model replaced the old model L in 1979, and was a cheap(er) alternative to the deluxe Olympia One. Its pretty bare bones. While I have never been a huge fan of Electrolux, I am quite fond of this little cleaner.
• Electrolux 160 Slimline (my latest project)Hi people, thought i'd give you a little sneak preview of my latest restoration project. Its not quite finished yet but it's nearly there. Its a 1982 Electrolux 160 Slimline, when I got it, it looked like it had been used all it's life without a bag and was full of soot too. When I put a cable on it I found the motor had started to seize up. So I took it all apart, soaked , scrubbed then polished all the main body parts, then after a while I managed to find a replacement motor, luckily the Slimline models used exactly the same motor as the 500 Series uprights. All I need to do now is sort out a few imperfections and scratches on the body and clean/repair the tools. Hope you like it, tell me what you think so far!

• 1981 Electrolux 350EThis is my favourite vintage cylinder, it's a brilliant little vac. The 350 and 350E series cylinder came out in 1981 and were a rival to the Hoover Compact and Goblin Solo models from around the same time. I love it because it's well made, reliable and has a smooth 1100watt motor. They're great to use and have a good quality toolkit unlike some of the later 80's Electrolux cylinders. Mine still has its original box and tools but unfortunately is missing the original floortool.
